MOLYNEAUX CUP

Laune Rangers were defeated last Saturday by Legion in the Quarter Final of the Molyneaux Cup, and will join fellow beaten Quarter Finalists in the Molyneaux Shield Semi Final this Sunday.  They travel to Gneeveguilla for a 12pm throw in.

MINOR BOYS

Laune Rangers defeated Milltown/Castlemaine on Saturday afternoon in the Semi Final of the County Minor Club A Championship.  Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 3-17, Milltown/Castlemaine 0-9.

UNDER 16 GIRLS

Laune Rangers Under 16 girls played MKL Gaels B in the East Kerry League on Monday last in JP O’Sullivan Park. The visitors got off to the better start, scoring 3 unanswered points. Laune Rangers replied with a well worked goal. It was score for score for a while before MKL finished the half strong leading 2-7 to 2-2.  Laune Rangers went further behind conceding 1-1 after the break leaving a gap of 9 pts between the sides. However, Laune Rangers upped their game and started to claw their way back. The defence turned over a lot of ball, which resulted in more ball going into the forwards, they in turn got some excellent scores to close the gap and end the game in a draw, 4-9 a piece. Laune Rangers Under 13 Girls had a great win at home against Moyvane in the County U13 Championship in JP O’Sullivan Park.

UNDER 14 GIRLS

Laune Rangers Under 14 Girls defeated Spa on Monday evening in JP O’Sullivan Park in East Kerry League.  Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 2-16 Spa 3-4

Laune Rangers Under 13 Boys Blue team travel to Keel this evening (Thursday) to face Keel/Listry in the Mid Kerry competition.

UNDER 12 GIRLS

Laune Rangers Under 12 Girls Blue team played Dr. Crokes in Killarney Monday evening (11/09/23) in the East Kerry League. It was a very physical close game throughout.  It took Laune Rangers the first quarter to settle but once they did Laune Rangers started to get some scores on the board. Dr Crokes were never going to make it easy for Laune Rangers. Both teams played their hearts out in an end to end game, but in the end the visitors came out on top with a 5 point win.  Full Time Score :  Dr Crokes 1-5, Laune Rangers 1-10.

It was a thriller of a match in the JP O’Sullivan Park Tuesday evening (12/09/23), where the Laune Rangers Under 12 white team played Legion in the East Kerry League. These two teams have battled hard all year and this occasion was no different. It took Laune Rangers the first quarter to get going and Legion led 5 points to no score. Laune Rangers fought hard in the second quarter and got on the score board at last.  Half time score Legion 7 points Laune Rangers 4 points.  By the second half Laune Rangers were well fired up but Legion made them work hard for every score. The last quarter had everyone jumping and screaming with goals flying in on both ends of the field it was score for score for a while. When the final whistle blew nobody knew who had won until the ref announced Laune Rangers win by 1 point – a cracker of a game! Thanks to all who supported the Kerry Mental Health Association ‘Spinathon’ held in Killorglin on Saturday last, led by players and mentors of the Laune Rangers Mens and Ladies teams.  It was a resounding success, with €5900 raised for Kerry Mental Health.  Well Done to all.
