U20 MEN
Thomas Healy Blitz – On Sunday last, a selection of players from Laune Rangers U20’s visited Beaufort to take part in the inaugural Thomas Healy Memorial Blitz. The group consisted of several of Thomas’ school friends and 2022 Under 15 County Championship winning teammates and captained by one of his best buddies Gavan Mangan, which was fitting. It was a very well organised occasion with large praise to be attributed to Healy family and Beaufort GAA. Our troops won their group with good wins over Listry and Dingle. However, faced with a very strong Fossa side, Laune Rangers came a cropper in the quarter final. Definitely a day where the taking part was all important.

U15 Boys: Laune Rangers U15 Boys began their Tralee Central Regional campaign at home to Na Gael on Wednesday evening. Na Gael had the advantage of a strong breeze in the first half. Hugh O’Sullivan and Mikey Hynes (free) opened the scoring and Cormac Sweeney got on the end of a move to smash the ball to the net. Na Gael finished the half the stronger to score 2 goals and 4 points to leave 5 between the sides.
Half time Laune Rangers 1-4, Na Gael 2-6.
Na Gael scored the first point of the 2nd half and then Rangers got a hold of the game with a pointed free followed by a brilliant goal by Kieran Patton which was followed by points by Daragh o Sullivan and Kieran Patton and another great goal by Odhran Foley. Laune Rangers finished the half stronger with a point from Cormac Sweeney and a goal by Mikey Hynes. This was a very good second half display by Rangers with all players playing their part.
The blue team had their 2nd outing in Central Regions League on Friday night against An Gaeltacht again at home.
The weather conditions were damp making the pitch and ball very slippery. An Gaeltacht opened the scoring with the first 2 points but then Mikey Hynes and Daragh Mckenna equalled things up. It was a tight physical first half with the quality of point kicking by both teams of a very high standard Gaeltacht pulled ahead at the end of the first half.
Half Time: Laune Rangers 0-8, Gaeltacht 1-11.
Gaeltacht started the 2nd half strong and got on a breaking ball in the square to score a 2nd goal but Rangers responded by getting 2 goals from the penalty spot both expertly taken by Odhran Foley and reduced the lead to 3 points in the 2nd half but unfortunately could not get any closer.
Final Score: Laune Rangers 2-12, An Gaeltacht 2-17.
