Senior Men commence their Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Championship campaign on Friday evening in Austin Stack Park against Kerins O’Rahilly’s at 7.30pm.  All support welcome.

SENIOR B TEAM

Laune Rangers Junior team played a strong Glenbeigh/Glencar side on Wednesday 17th July.  Laune Rangers were defeated in this round but have qualified for the Shield Final.  They play Keel in Keel on Tuesday evening (23rd July) at 7.15pm.

SENIOR LADIES

Senior Ladies beat Austin Stacks in the first round of Corrib Oil County League.

This evening, Monday 22nd, the Senior Ladies are away to Kilcummin in Round 2 of Corrib Oil County League at 7.30pm.  All support welcome.

MINOR BOYS

Laune Rangers 3-12, Dr Crokes 2-11

Laune Rangers booked their place in the Keane’s Supervalu County Minor Club Championship A Final with victory over Dr Crokes in an exciting Semi Final in Killorglin on Monday evening last. The minors will play Austin Stacks in the Final on Monday 29th July at 7pm in Fitzgerald Stadium. Best of luck to all involved.

U16 Girls : The girls were due to play Dr Crokes during the week but Crokes were unable to fulfil the fixture.  The girls are due to play MKL B this week.

U15 Boys: Laune Rangers U15 boys had a busy week. On Friday night the 12th of July, Laune Rangers U15 White Team hosted Austin Stacks. The home side having the wind in first half and took full advantage with Jack Buckley and Tommy Foley leading the way in the scoring. A feature of the first half was the display by Laune Rangers defence only conceding 1 score with all 6 defenders defending tigerishly to leave the half time score Laune Rangers 2-4 to 1-0. Austin Stacks rallied in the second half and gradually reeled in the lead and eventually took the lead with a minute remaining. However Laune Rangers refused to lie down and worked the ball up the field to win a free . Jack Buckley took a quick free to Fionn McGillycuddy in the middle who played a brilliant ball into the square for David O’Shea to get on the end of it to flick it to net to win the game with the last play.

Final score Laune Rangers 3-9 to 2-10. This was a great team performance with all 16 players playing their part.

Laune Rangers Blue team travelled to play Milltown/Castlemaine on Wednesday evening in Tralee Central Regional Division 1 having lost to Austin Stacks A in previous week. Milltown/Castlemaine struck for an early goal Rangers replied with a point before Daragh O’Sullivan with a great goal, Mikey Hynes and Kieran Patton kept the scoreboard ticking over to leave the half time score : Laune Rangers 1-5, Milltown/Castlemaine 1-3. Rangers then extended the lead to 4 points before the home side struck for a goal to get back in the game. Mikey Hynes and Conor Murphy replied with points before Daragh Mckenna struck a great goal to increase Rangers lead. Fionán O’Connor then set up Odhran Foley for a third goal to settle the game.

Final Score: Milltown/Castlemaine 2-8, Laune Rangers 3-14

U13 Boys : Blue Team are away to Annascaul/Lispole this week and the White Team are away to Ballymacelligott B also.

U12 Girls : Laune Rangers U12 girls travelled to the Kerry Centre of Excellence to participate in Festival of Football LGFA 50th Celebrations. A great morning of football was had, the girls played Finuge/St Senans, Listowel Emmets and Rathmore. Great skills on display by all the teams. To top off the morning some of the Kerry Ladies including Laune Rangers Club player Ciara O’Brien along with Declan Quill and Darragh Long came to cheer on the girls. The girls got the opportunity to take some more pictures with them and wish the management & team well in the upcoming All Ireland Final after they overcame Armagh yesterday in the Semi-Final. The girls got to enjoy ice creams and treats then had the opportunity to play on inflatables after the football so they should all sleep soundly tonight.  The girls also played Austin Stacks earlier in the week in a challenge game and look forward to visiting in next few weeks.

U11 Boys : U11 Boys travelled to Fitzgerald Stadium to participate in Munster Blitz.  The boys played Urhan GAA, Kerins O’Rahilly’s and St Josephs Doora Barefield GAA.  They then topped off their trip with a tour of the dressing room with Mike Quirke Kerry Senior selector as their guide.  Some very interesting questions were asked of their guide.

U9 Boys : The U9 Boys played Ardfert in Go Games last week and the boys were wearing their new tops sponsored by Pa Sheehan Builders Ltd and James’ Barber Shop.

INTER-COUNTY SCENE

Congratulations to Ciara O’Brien and Kerry Senior Ladies and management team who have qualified for All Ireland Final on Sunday 4th August at 4.15pm. aune Rangers Ladies will be supporting Kerry Senior Ladies in their All-Ireland Final v Galway on August 4th at 4.15pm. The club would love to see a large contingent of Laune Rangers supporters there to cheer on our own Club member Ciara O’Brien and all the Kerry Ladies team & management. The club can organise tickets so that all supporters will be together and there is also a bus booked. If you would like to book tickets please PM Selina 0876196676 or Diane 0863642970 with your name and amount of tickets you require, adults (€30) or kids (u18-€15) and Loretta ladies club secretary will get them ordered.

Please note young children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please advise if you will need seats on the bus (€27.50 pp) – Cut off for bookings is Tuesday 23rd July at 9pm as Loretta will need to have final numbers to get tickets ordered. HEALTHY CLUBS

One of the first official events for Laune Rangers participation in the Healthy Clubs programme was hosting the Dillon Quirke Foundation on Friday 19th July.

46 members between 12 & 18 years old had cardiac screening to help prevent SADS by identifying heart conditions at an early stage – before any symptoms present.

The club would like to thank the Dillon Quirke Foundation for providing the screening, Emir O’Shea for organising it and the Healthy Club Committee for facilitating the day.

The club would also like to thank the parents for their punctuality and donations to the foundation.
