MINOR BOYS

Laune Rangers Minors played Austin Stacks in their Keane’s SuperValu Minor Club Football Championship A Final on Monday 29th July in Fitzgerald Stadium.  Meeting an extremely strong Austin Stacks team and with Laune Rangers hit with a flurry of injuries in the last few weeks, unfortunately for Rangers it was not meant to be on the day. COISTE NA NÓG

U16 Girls : Laune Rangers u16s played the 3rd round of the County League on Sunday last away to MKL B in Milltown. Playing against the breeze in the first half and against a well organised MKL defence, scores were hard to come by. The girls from the Laune had to be patient and precise with their passing and this paid off to produce some nice finishing and our defence was also sticking to the task when required.

Rangers worked hard in the second half to keep the game in the balance. A large panel on the day meant fresh legs coming on to keep up the fast pace of the game helping Laune Rangers to come away with the win.

Full Time score :-MKL B 1-6, Laune Rangers 1.10

Thanks to MKL for a very good sporting game. Laune Rangers have topped their group and await their Semi-Final fixture.

U15 Boys : The blue team were on duty against John Mitchels. This was a tough encounter with nothing between the teams in the early exchanges. However, Odhran Foley put a bit of daylight between the teams with a cracking goal. Rangers were leading by 3 points at halftime. The second half was nip and tuck with both defences on top. Mitchels battled hard to get back in the game and were awarded a penalty mid ways through the second half but Luke Carey in goals pulled off a great save and then collected the rebound to keep the lead for Rangers. Then Daragh O’Sullivan and Liam O’Shea struck for consecutive goals to make sure of the win for Rangers.

Panel: Luke Carey, Luke McGillycuddy, Eugene Mulligan, Michael Griffin, Pat Costello, Cormac Sweeney, Fionnáin Quigg, Conor Murphy, David O’Shea, Daragh O’Sullivan, Hugh O’Sullivan, Donnacha Prendiville, Daragh McKenna, Odhran Foley, Liam O’Shea, Jack Buckley, Fionn McGillycuddy, Fionán O’Connor, Henry Whittleton, Peter O’Shea.

The white team match report to follow.
