Laune Rangers B 1-11, Keel B 2-11
Already guaranteed their place in the Mid Kerry Junior League Final, Laune Rangers took to the field against Keel on Tuesday evening without a host of regulars, and 11 of their starting team for this game were in the Under 19 age grade.
Scores were tied at 0-2 after five minutes as early scores by Colm O’Shea and Jack Healy were wiped out by a Keel brace, as Adam Carey also pulled off an excellent save to deny the visitors a goal. Cian O’Shea temporarily put Rangers ahead with a point before Keel added three in succession lead by 0-5 to 0-3 with fifteen minutes played.
Laune Rangers bounced back by adding points through Jack O’Sullivan and Cian O’Shea to level matters, before Ciarán O’Sullivan came up from centre back to score the game’s first goal. A point in injury time for Keel saw the home side leading by two at the break.
Half Time Score:- Laune Rangers B 1-5, Keel B 0-6.
Cian O’Shea, Ciarán O’Sullivan and Colm O’Shea added points in the early stages of the second half, but they were wiped out by Keel’s first goal. Keel added three in succession themselves to regain the lead, but a well taken Morgan O’Sullivan point levelled matters to leave the score 1-9 a piece with fifteen minutes to play.
Keel pointed twice before a Jack O’Sullivan point left the minimum between the sides but, as Rangers were upfield in search of another equaliser, Keel broke to score the decisive goal with five minutes to go. Eamonn Carey slotted a point to leave a kick of a ball between the teams but time ran out for the home side.
