Spa Killarney 1-8, Laune Rangers 5-16
Laune Rangers opened their Kerry LGFA Junior A Championship with a comprehensive win against Spa in Killarney on Monday evening.
It was a mis-match that saw Laune Rangers take a first quarter lead they would build on for the rest of the first half. Four goals in the opening period through Ailbhe Clifford, Sophia Doherty, Ciara O’Brien and a Fodhla Houlihan penalty gave Rangers a commanding lead at the break.
Spa would battle on to their credit, and they scored an early goal in the second half, only for it to be cancelled out by Rangers’ fifth scored by Sara Leslie. Laune Rangers didn’t look back, and kicked on for an excellent win.
