Cromane 1-5, Laune Rangers 2-21
Laune Rangers blew off the cobwebs on Sunday afternoon with a Mid Kerry O’Sullivan Cup win against their hosts Cromane – a first game in six weeks for many of the team.
Cromane opened the scoring with a pointed free from Seán O’Sullivan that was duly cancelled out by Cian O’Shea at the other end. Another Seán O’Sullivan free was cancelled out by the first point from play in the game by Matt Leslie, who added a free of his own a couple of minutes later.
Stephen Sealy cut though the Cromane defence to slot the ball to the net for the first goal of the game and, while Seán O’Sullivan added a well taken free, Rangers pointed through Cian O’Shea, Matt Leslie and Darragh O’Grady to lead by 1-6 to 0-3 with fifteen minutes played.
John Tyther got himself of the scoreboard with a point before Mikey Houlihan and Danny O’Shea (free) replied for the home side. Cian O’Shea pointed a free before Pa Carey scored the last point of the half, although it may have been more when the centre back ghosted into space and was found by a great Eoin Clifford pass before blasting the ball over the crossbar.

Laune Rangers made changes at the break, and they kicked on to dominate the second half and win comfortably. Eoghan Hassett pointed a free to open the half before the second Rangers goal was scored – Matt Leslie’s attempted punch over the bar taking a touch off a Cromane player and falling into the net for a goal.
Leslie, Cian O’Shea (2) and Eoghan Hassett (3, 1 free) continued to increase the lead for their side, and Laune Rangers led by 2-16 to 0-5 with fifteen minutes remaining.
Ciarán O’Sullivan scored an excellent point before Cromane came close scoring a goal – Darragh McKeefrey’s shot rattling the bar though.
Eoin Clifford, Callum Russell, Eoghan Hassett, and Gavin O’Shea all added to the lead, but Cromane managed to get a second half score with a late goal through Seán Teahan.
