In a sun-soaked JP O’Sullivan Park, Laune Rangers Development Team played the opening game in a Super-Sunday v Dr Crokes B. Laune Rangers opened the scoring with a free converted by Cian O’Shea which was followed by another point from the boot of Roan Moriarty in the opening four minutes. However, Dr Crokes then hit back with 2 quick points in succession from the midfield pairing Liam Randles and Jack O’Sullivan. Eoin O’Connell for the home side kicked the next point after receiving a lovely pass from Ronan O’Shea. Both sides exchanged points with both centre forwards kicking the next scores, Laune Rangers then settled into the game with points being kicked by Cian O’Shea and Gavin O’Shea, then Gavin having intercepted a Dr Crokes kickout passed the ball to his brother Cian who made no mistake by hitting the back of the net. Callum Russell added another point with some great possession play by the home side. Dr Crokes added two points in this period. Scoreline: Laune Rangers 1-7, Dr Crokes B 0-5. For the remaining 10 minutes of the first half, both sides exchanged scores, James Treacy and Darragh Clifford kicked a point each. Dr Crokes’ final attack of the half resulted in James Treacy, Eoin O’Connell and Conor Buckley’s great defending denied Dr Crokes a near certain goal and Laune Rangers worked the ball up the field where Cian O’Shea kicked a point which was the final play of the first half.

Dr Crokes introduced basketball player Paul Clarke who kicked the opening score of the second half and full forward for Dr Crokes Brendan Falvey followed with another point from play. Laune Rangers eager to maintain their lead saw scores kicked by Ronan O’Shea and Daragh O’Connor, Paul Clarke for the visitors then registered another point, leaving the bare minimum between the sides. Laune Rangers 1-12, Dr Crokes 0-14 after first 10 minutes of second half and in the following 10-minute period points were kicked by Cian O’Shea, Darragh O’Grady and Gavin O’Shea, on twentieth minute of second half Dr Crokes struck for their first goal which gave them the lead for the first time of the afternoon. Laune Rangers registered 2 additional points in the remaining 5 minutes – Cian O’Shea converted a free and Darragh O’Grady kicked the final point for Laune Rangers. Just before the full-time whistle, Dr Crokes added another goal from the boot of midfielder Jack O’Sullivan.
