Laune Rangers Senior Development team travelled to Kilgarvan on Sunday afternoon last.
Kilgarvan’s Patrick O’Shea opened the scoring with a point from a placed ball. Matt Leslie then kicked the next two points from play that was then followed by another converted free from Kilgarvan full forward Patrick O’Shea. Joint captain Marc Clifford kicked a point from for the visitors and Niall T O’Brien following with a point of his own from play. Kilgarvan kicked the next score from another placed ball with Matt Leslie & John Burke replying with 2 converted frees for Laune Rangers. Seanie Diggin kicked Rangers seventh point of the first half. Laune Rangers now getting on top around the middle with their half backs driving forward kicked the next score with Callum Russell kicking a fine point for the visitors. Kilgarvan continued pushing on but were finding it extremely difficult to break through Laune Rangers defence. Marc Clifford then kicked his second and Laune Rangers ninth point of half. Kilgarvan were then awarded a free which they converted, and Matt Leslie then replied with a converted free for Laune Rangers which was the final score of the half.

Laune Rangers started the second half with same momentum as they finished the first half. Ciarán O’Sullivan opened the scoring with a point from play. Kilgarvan then kicked two points from play, but Laune Rangers Matt Leslie found the back of Kilgarvan net with a well taken left foot finish. Cathal Kelliher responded with a point for Kilgarvan and Marc Clifford kicked his third point of the day from play. Kilgarvan tried hard to break through the visitor’s defence, but Laune Rangers remained defiant in defence, Kilgarvan’s Jimmy Kelliher kicked the three remaining points for Kilgarvan in the final 15 minutes of the second half. Laune Rangers finished the game strong and had several players kick scores – Callum Russell, Colm O’Shea, Stephen Gannon, John Burke kicked a free and Matt Leslie kicked 3 points with one of those being a placed ball.
