Mid Kerry Minor Championship
Match report by Eddie Birmingham
Laune Rangers 1-14
Keel/Listry 1-16
Laune Rangers and Keel/Listry played a very entertaining game of football in perfect conditions in JP O’Sullivan Park on Saturday afternoon. In a match which was well refereed by Billy Lacey, a much-depleted Laune Rangers put up a great battle, but the spoils on this occasion went to the visitors.
Keel/Listry went in at halftime leading on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-7, with Adam Radny in the Laune Rangers goals pulling off 2 marvellous saves to keep his team in the contest. It was totally tit for tat in the 2nd half, with Daniel Kelly getting the Laune Rangers goal when he pounced on an Adam O’Neill effort, which came back off the upright. The home team were really on top at the latter end of the match, but unfortunately, time ran out for them.
This is not the end of the road in the Mid Kerry Championship for this team however. They will have another chance against Milltown/Castlemaine next weekend, which can still qualify them for the final if they win.
Best wishes to Conor West on his recovery from his ACL surgery which he had last Friday.
