
Laune Rangers 3-20, Milltown/Castlemaine 0-6
Laune Rangers Senior men finished the season on Sunday with defeat of Milltown/Castlemaine in Sunday’s Final in Glenbeigh to retain Mid Kerry’s O’Sullivan Cup.
Laune Rangers were always in control and led from the first minute. O’Shea brothers Gavin & Cian opened the scoring with points before Jerome Flynn replied with a pointed free. The first goal of the game put Rangers firmly in control as Gearóid Hassett finished to the net. Stephen Gannon pointed twice to put Laune Rangers ahead by 1-4 to 0-1 with a quarter played.
A Gearóid Hassett free extended the lead before Jerome Flynn replied with a free for Milltown/Castlemaine. Laune Rangers kicked on to take an unassailable lead into the break. Gearóid Hassett scored his second goal and added two points quickly after (one free). Oisín Birmingham & Darragh Clifford added further points to send Laune Rangers into the pavilion 13 points ahead.
Half Time Score: – Laune Rangers 2-9, Milltown/Castlemaine 0-2.
Darragh Clifford added a point seconds after the restart before coming close to finding the net as well – his shot rebounding off the post into the path of his brother Marc who slotted it to the net.
Jerome Flynn added four pointed frees in the second half for Milltown/Castlemaine, but Laune Rangers comfortably saw the game out and doubled their points tally before the final whistle – Callum Russell, Cian O’Shea (free), Colm O’Shea (2), Stephen Gannon (2), Darragh O’Grady (2) & Darragh Clifford (2) with the scores.

After the game, Mid Kerry manager Peter O’Sullivan, on behalf of the O’Sullivan family, presented the man of the match award to Darragh Clifford, before handing over the O’Sullivan Cup to Laune Rangers captain Calum Moriarty.
