Laune Rangers 3-12 (21), Finuge/St Senans 1-9 (12)
Laune Rangers welcomed Finuge/St Senans to JP O’Sullivan Park on Sunday 30th March, for their first home of 2025 season in the second round of the Credit Union Donal Curtin Cup, both teams having won their opening round.
The visitors opened the scoring for the day with a point from play, but Laune Rangers responded with a point from the boot of Ailbhe Clifford. Forwards from both sides exchanged the next 4 points (2 points each respectively) – Fodhla Houlihan and Miriam O’Keefe 2 apiece. However, Fodhla extended Laune Rangers lead with scores from two frees. Laune Rangers now working really hard to curb the Finuge/St Senans attacks when Orla O’Brien burst forward and linking up with Fodhla Houlihan and Ailbhe Clifford to make no mistake and bury the ball in the visitor’s net. Finuge/St Senans added a free just before the short whistle.

Laune Rangers opened the second half brightly with a shot on goal that was saved by Finuge/St Senans goalkeeper Rachel Horgan, Finuge/St Senans added 4 additional points to draw level with the home side. Ailbhe Clifford added a point from play to push Laune Rangers ahead, but Fodhla Houlihan scored a goal – having gained possession from a free taken by Nicole Moriarty. Nicole in turn added her own point from play. Finuge/St Senans were then denied a goal scoring opportunity by some excellent defending by the Laune Rangers defence and goalkeeper Sarah O’Connor. Laune Rangers continuing their attack and saw Sarah O’Brien add a point from play after nice piece of possession play from Jacquelyn Owens and Saoirse O’Shea. Meadhbh Johnson added another goal to Laune Rangers total for the day. Fodhla Houlihan added 3 points (2f, 1 from play) in succession. Finuge kicked two further points from play but the final score of the game came from Ailbhe Clifford from far side of the field. Laune Rangers with their second win for this competition.
