Laune Rangers Senior Team
Laune Rangers are one of the oldest and most storied clubs in County Kerry, having formed in 1888. Ten County Senior Football Championships have been won by the club, the most recent in 1996. Laune Rangers most famous day was St Patrick’s Day 1996, winning the All Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in Croke Park.
The loss to emigration of a number of the club’s players hit Laune Rangers hard in the second decade of the 21st century, and a 45 year run in as a Senior club came to an end on December 6th 2015 as the club lost a relegation playoff to Austin Stacks and dropped to Intermediate level, where we have stayed since then. The revival of our underage teams has seen fresh impetus injected into our Seniors in recent years, as the Laune Rangers Senior team has now a distinctly young look to it.
Having lost our B team from the County SFL in the later part of the last decade, Laune Rangers once again have two teams in the County Leagues, which widens the pathway for more of our young players to continue their development.
