KILLORGLIN 30K GIVEAWAY

Laune Rangers and KCYMS Basketball Club’s joint fundraiser, the Killorglin 30K Giveaway, came to a close on Friday evening last with the remaining €25,000 drawn in prizes.  Both clubs were delighted to announce that the draw sold out with every ticket being claimed before the draw.  Congratulations to the winners in the draw, and huge thanks to everyone that bought a ticket.  A number of anonymous parties donated to the draw and put their ticket in the name of a charity, and we saw some of those charities drawn out on the night.

SENIOR LADIES

Round 6 of the Bons Secours Kerry LGFA Junior A Championship took place on Sunday last when Flexachem sponsored Laune Rangers Senior Ladies travelled away to face Clounmacon/Moyvane in Clounmacon on a dreadful morning for football. Very heavy rain fell throughout the game making the pitch very heavy and slippery. There was never much between the teams throughout, and the teams were level at Half Time at 0-6 each – Laune Rangers scores coming from Ailbhe Clifford,Nicole Moriarty (2), Ciara O’Brien, Rachael Evans & Fodhla Houlihan. Clounmacon/Moyvane started the second half brightly getting the all important goal early in the half which meant Laune Rangers were chasing the game in a down pour. They did their very best to bridge the gap but were unable to do so. Full Time Score:- Clounmacon/Moyvane 1-9, Laune Rangers 0-9. Laune Rangers close out their Junior A campaign with a home fixture against Ballymacelligott on Sunday afternoon next, October 1st in JP O’Sullivan Park.  Throw in 12pm.

MOLYNEAUX SHIELD SEMI FINAL

Laune Rangers defeated Gneeveguilla on Saturday afternoon in the Semi Final of the Molyneaux Shield.  Full Time Score:- Gneeveguilla 0-8, Laune Rangers 1-6.

MOLYNEAUX SHIELD FINAL

Laune Rangers will face Austin Stacks in the Final of the Molyneaux Shield.  The game takes place on Sunday next, October 1st at 2:30pm in Milltown

MINOR CLUB A CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Laune Rangers were defeated by Austin Stacks on Saturday last in the County Minor Club Championship A Final.

UNDER 13 GIRLS

Laune Rangers Under 13 Girls were defeated by Cromane in the County U13 B Championship Semi Final on Thursday evening.

UNDER 12 GIRLS

Laune Rangers Under 12 Blue team played Dr. Crokes in the East Kerry League final in JP O’Sullivan Park last week. It was a superb game from start to finish. Rangers got off to a good start getting the first few scores. Crokes responded well and it was close throughout. Laune Rangers trailed by 6 points going into the last quarter but fought hard and got the next few scores and brought the deficit back to a point but unfortunately time ran out and the game finished on a scoreline of 2.10 to 2.11 to Dr Crokes. These two teams have battled hard all year and they have had some exciting close matches but on this occasion it was Crokes night. Laune Rangers Under 12 White team played MKL C in the East Kerry League in Listry last week. It was another cracker of a game.Laune Rangers were up against a team with some very strong players, but what they missed in size, Rangers made up in work ethic. Well Done to the Mid Kerry side who have won their last two games and host Kerin’s O’Rahillys on Saturday evening in Beaufort, with qualification for the Quarter Finals of the County SFC in their hands.  Well Done and best of Luck to David Mangan, Fiachra Clifford, Gearóid Hassett & Dáire Cleary who all started both games to date as well as fellow squad members Seán Cleary & Jason Browne.
