MINOR BOYS

Well Done to the Laune Rangers Minor Boys who defeated An Ghaeltacht on Friday evening last in the first round of the Central Region Division 1 competition.  They also defeated Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane on Monday evening in JP O’Sullivan Park to make it two wins from two.  Read the match report from that game below

MINOR GIRLS

Laune Rangers Minor girls played their second County League game on Wednesday evening in JP O Sullivan Park against Annascaul/Dingle. The game was played in good dry conditions which contributed to a high scoring contest.  Laune Rangers lined out without a number of girls due to injury and sickness, so the game was played at 13 a-side.  They say goals win games and this was definitely true for Laune Rangers on the evening.  Rangers took control early on with two quick goals and from there they never looked back. They played some great football in the first half against a reasonably strong wind, with them adding another 4 goals to the score line. They led at half time 6-06 to 2-05.  The second half continued as the first half with Laune Rangers dominating the early part of the half adding a number of fine points to the score board. Towards the end Annascaul/ Dingle added a few scores to their tally to see Laune Rangers run out winners on a score line of 6-13  to 3-12.  This was a great team performance by a very young minor team, with 8 of the starting 13 playing U16. As the score line suggests, the forwards were very efficient with their shooting and the midfield contributed very well in linking play. The defence was very resolute against a physically stronger Annascaul/Dingle team.
