LOTTO: Laune Rangers Lotto Results for Monday 19th July 2021.  There was no winner of the €9,200 jackpot.  Numbers drawn 01 – 07 – 26 – 29.  Consolation Prizes were won by the following: €100 Barry Sheehan, sold by Kerry; €50 Noel Prendiville – standing order; €25 Rita Corkery; €25 Sylvie O’Shea – sold by Kerry.  Due to low sales, and our wish to pay out the same consolation prizes each week, we have decided to freeze our jackpot for the opening weeks of the draw until sales pick up.

KERRY: Best of Luck to both Kerry teams in their games this weekend.  Good Luck to our own Ciara O’Brien and the Kerry Senior Ladies against Donegal on Saturday evening, and the Senior Men who take on Cork in Killarney on Sunday in the Munster Final.

CONDOLENCES: We were all deeply saddened this week to learn of the passing of former Laune Rangers player Noel Lucey of Caragh Lake.  Noel was the second eldest and last surviving member of one of our greatest and most storied sporting families.  All five brothers excelled in sport.  Brendan was an outstanding athlete, while Jimmy, Vincent and Noel all played Senior football for Kerry, all three playing on the same team in 1963.  Noel was centre back and Jimmy midfield in the All Ireland winning team of 1962.  Paul, the youngest Lucey brother, captained the Kerry Junior team in 1968.  Noel emigrated to London in 1964, and went on to win an All Ireland Junior Championship with London in 1966, when they defeated Cork in the Final.  Noel returned home to Kerry in 1969, togging out again for Laune Rangers.  Part of the first Laune Rangers team to re-enter the County Senior Football Championship in 1970, Noel captained the Laune Rangers Seniors in 1971, serving as joint-trainer the same year and played again in 1972 before moving to Glenflesk.  Laune Rangers GAA Club wishes to extend our most sincere condolences to Noel Lucey’s extended family and his many friends.  On Wednesday afternoon, members and former Laune Rangers teammates of Noel Lucey’s formed part of a Guard of Honour outside Glenflesk church, as the coffin – draped in a tricolour, a Kerry jersey and a Laune Rangers number 6 jersey embarked on its final journey to Aghadoe cemetary.  Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a Anam dílis.
