KERRY: Commiserations to the Kerry Senior LGFA team who were defeated by Meath in the All Ireland Final on Sunday, especially our own squad member Meadhbh Johnston.  Laune Rangers had two supporter’s buses on the road on Sunday, including one made up of our U14 Girls squad who had a highly enjoyable challenge match in the early afternoon against St Peregrines in Dublin.

MINOR CHAMPIONSHIP: With both teams out of contention, there was only pride to play for in JP O’Sullivan Park on Bank Holiday Monday evening as Laune Rangers hosted West Kerry in the final round of group games in the County Minor Championship.  Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 2-9, West Kerry 1-12.  Read more in the match report here

UNDER 13 BOYS BLUE: The Central Region Under 13 competition got underway on Sunday evening and Laune Rangers Blue team opened with an excellent Division 1 win against Austin Stacks in Connolly Park.  Laune Rangers had the ideal start, scoring goals through Odhran Foley, Kieran Patton & Callum Robertson and points through Kieran Patton & Hugh O’Sullivan (free) in the opening quarter.  Callum Robertson added another point before Austin Stacks registered their first point.  Odhran Foley pointed twice and, although Stacks scored three points of their own, Daragh O’Sullivan hit the net for Rangers’ fourth goal before the break.  Half Time Score:- Austin Stacks 0-4, Laune Rangers 4-5.  Laune Rangers fifth goal came via Conor Murphy in the early stages of the second half and points were added by Mikey Hynes, Kieran Patton and Cormac Sweeney (free).  A pointed free by Stacks was nullified by Hugh O’Sullivan and Stacks added another before Callum Robertson and Odhran Foley added further points for Rangers.  Austin Stacks rallied in the final quarter and added six points (2 free) before scoring their first goal to close the gap.  Odhran Foley added another point before Stacks struck for their second goal with the final score of the game.  Full Time Score:- Austin Stacks 2-12, Laune Rangers Blue 5-12.  Laune Rangers Blue:- Luke Carey, Luke McGillicuddy, Pat Costello, Charlie Foley, Donnacha Prendiville, Eugene Mulligan, Fionnán O’Connor, Mikey Hynes (0-1), Conor Murphy (1-0), Hugh O’Sullivan (0-2f), Callum Robertson (1-2), Liam O’Shea, Kieran Patton (1-2), Odhran Foley (1-4), Daragh O’Sullivan (1-0).  Subs: Cormac Sweeney (0-1), Tommy Foley, Fionn McGillycuddy, Darragh McKenna, Peter O’Shea, Noah Eaton.

UNDER 13 BOYS WHITE: The earlier game of the evening was the Division 1B encounter between Austin Stacks and Laune Rangers White team.  Austin Stacks opened with a goal and point in the first quarter, but Rangers were much stronger in the second quarter with Odhran Clifford and Darragh McKenna scoring points.  Stacks added a point, but a Darragh McKenna goal levelled matters before McKenna pointed to give Rangers a slender lead at the break.  Half Time Score:- Austin Stacks 1-2, Laune Rangers 1-3.  The home side were much stronger in the second half, and went on to score four further goals to win the game.  Rangers added points from Jack Buckley, Darragh McKenna (2), Cormac Sweeney, Noah Eaton, Peter O’Shea.  Full Time Score:- Austin Stacks 5-7, Laune Rangers White 1-9.  Laune Rangers White:- Fionnán Quigg, Luke Cleary, Mikey Dwyer, Jaego Ferris, Eoghan Doona, Noah Eaton, Odhran Clifford, Darragh McKenna, Peter O’Shea, Billy Gannon, Myles Cahill, Oisin Clifford, Jack Buckley.  Subs: Cormac Sweeney, Fionn McGillycuddy, Tommy Foley.

PUCK FAIR: Laune Rangers will take part in the Puck Fair parade next Wednesday evening, gathering at the Fishery at 5pm.  We encourage all of our underage players to take part in the parade.  We also wish everyone a safe and enjoyable festival, and wish those coming home for Puck safe travels.
