Laune Rangers welcomed Milltown/Castlemaine to JP O’Sullivan Park on a beautiful spring afternoon to play Mid Kerry League Semi Final in what was a high scoring game and new rules paying dividends to an exciting game. The final of Mid Kerry League Final sponsored by MKS Security will be fixed at the next meeting of Mid Kerry CCC.

Senior Men will start their Credit Union Senior Football League campaign next weekend with an away game to near neighbours Glenbeigh/Glencar, currently fixed for Sunday 16th March at 2pm.

Senior Men Development Team will commence their Credit Union Senior Football League campaign with a home game next weekend to Kilgarvan.  Fixture is fixed for Sunday at 2pm.

Best of luck to both senior teams in their respective County League campaigns.

Also best of luck to the Laune Rangers contingent who are involved with Liebherr who now play in an All Ireland Interfirms Semi Final against Galway Gardaí this week – Martin Stack (manager), Seán Arthurs (captain), Stephen Gannon, Niall T O’Brien and Gavin O’Shea.

On Saturday evening 8^th March, the senior ladies celebrated the success of their Corrib Oil County League campaign in 2024.  The club are incredibly proud of these young women who have worked hard over last number of years and hopefully will have many reasons to celebrate in the future.  This would not have been achieved without the guidance and expertise of the hard-working management team – Terence Houlihan, Brian Gannon, Pat Gallagher, Pat Pigott and Martin Stack.  Thanks to John Naughton of Flexachem (Senior Ladies Main sponsor) who took time out of his busy schedule to call in and wish the team well for 2025.  A very special thanks to Hazel and the team in the Bianconi who hosted us and wowed us their hospitality. A fabulous meal was followed by a medal presentation.  After the night off, the team will now prepare for first round of the Donal Curtin competition on weekending 23^rd March.

Best of luck to Rachael Evans (captain) and Kayleigh McGlashan who are playing in O’Connor Cup Final with MTU Cork next week.

An excellent performance saw Laune Rangers defeat Killarney Legion in the Keane’s SuperValu Minor Club Championship semi-final in Direen on Saturday afternoon. A clinical attacking display, coupled with a rock-solid defensive effort, saw the Killorglin men through to the Final.

The team will now meet Kenmare Shamrocks in the Minor ‘A’ Final, fixture to be confirmed.

Minor Ladies opened their season with a trip to Abbeydorney.  Minor team being a very young team, with several U16 players playing up played a very strong Abbeydorney team.

Membership for 2025 can be renewed, you can register via www.Foireann.ie, please do not create a second account.  A registration evening will take place on Tuesday 18^th March from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in the clubhouse for anyone having difficulty with Foireann, or who wish to pay cash or by card.

Laune Rangers GAA are starting to prepare for next season, if you are interested in interested in volunteering within the Club for the coming year in some capacity.  This may involve helping out at boys/girls academies sessions, becoming part of a coaching team, helping out on match day – stewarding, operating the scoreboard, gate collection; female liaison officer, helping with PR activities, lotto and other fundraisers.

The club will be starting the process of safeguarding and coaching courses for the winter.  These are now a requirement for anyone volunteering with children, once this is completed it is valid for 3 years.

Congratulations to all Laune Rangers groups who participated in Mid Kerry Scór na bPáistí on Saturday evening, a very enjoyable evening was had by all.  Laune Rangers progress to County Final in Ballybunion on Sunday March 30^th – Rince Fóirne, Solo Step dancing, Solo Singing, Ballad Group and the Novelty Act.

Healthy Clubs are currently working on some additional projects but coming up on Mothers Day 30th March is “Walk In Pink”, a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research. This will be the clubs third year taking part.  More information to follow.

Healthy Clubs Committee organised an evening for Gaelic for Mothers to celebrate and recognise International Women’s Day – three wonderful speakers in attendance on the night.  Julia Buest, physical therapist from The Clinic, Castleisland; Katherine Wrigley a local GP who will be based in Dalys Lane clinic following her maternity leave and to close out the evening Dervil Fleming a locally based yoga/Pilates instructor.  Julia spoke about the importance of strength and resistance training throughout various stages of life, Katherine spoke about all things related to women’s health and Dervil took those in attendance through breathing exercises and some chair yoga.  All in attendance thoroughly enjoyed their evening.

The Irish Pilgrimage Trust has put a call out to the club to look for old Kerry jerseys for their clients to take to Lourdes with them at Easter.  Jerseys can be either donated or they can be returned also if required.  Please contact Eoghan O’Grady if you can assist 086 9895419
