Senior A team travelled to Glenbeigh Sunday afternoon (02/03/2025) to play Glenbeigh/Glencar in Round 3 of Mid Kerry League with a home semi-final for the winning side. Please read below.

MINOR

Minor Men: Laune Rangers Minors opened their season with a hard-fought win in Lewis Road against Dr Crokes in ideal conditions on Saturday evening.  There was very little to separate the sides which led to extra time and then penalties.  These young minors are playing U18 this year due to the change in age structure within Kerry GAA.  See website for match report.

MINOR LADIES

Minor Ladies: Minor Ladies have their opening game of 2025 in County Minor League – Group 4, the group is made up of Abbeydorney, Scartaglen and Kerins O’Rahillys. The opening game is fixed for Sunday 9th March 12pm away to Abbeydorney.

HEALTHY CLUBS

 Healthy Clubs Committee are currently busy organising some new initiatives for Laune Rangers and the wider community.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Laune Rangers GAA are starting to prepare for next season, if you are interested in interested in volunteering within the Club for the coming year in some capacity.  This may involve helping out at boys/girls academies sessions, becoming part of a coaching team, helping out on match day – stewarding, operating the scoreboard, gate collection; female liaison officer, helping with PR activities, lotto and other fundraisers.

The club will be starting the process of safeguarding and coaching courses for the winter.  These are now a requirement for anyone volunteering with children, once this is completed it is valid for 3 years.

MONTHLY MEETING

Next monthly meeting will take place on Monday 7th April 2025 at 8.30pm in the clubhouse at JP O’Sullivan Park.

UNDERAGE MEDAL PRESENTATION

Medal presentation took place in the CYMS on Saturday 1st March. Thanks to all involved on the night – Fergus Clifford (MC), Bord na nÓg and Ladies Committee, CYMS, James and Helena Hurley who sponsored balloons, parents and players who attended. IRISH PILGRIMAGE TRUST NEEDS YOUR HELP

The Irish Pilgrimage Trust has put a call out to the club to look for old Kerry jerseys for their clients to take to Lourdes with them at Easter.  Jerseys can be either donated or they can be returned also if required.  Please contact Eoghan O’Grady if you can assist 086 9895419
