SENIOR LADIES

Laune Rangers Senior Ladies suffered their first defeat of the year, going down to Glenflesk away from home. Playing against a very strong breeze in the first half, Laune Rangers went in at Half Time trailing on a score line of Glenflesk 3-3, Laune Rangers 0-7. With the strong wind at their backs they started the second half quickly, kicking the first three points. At this stage, Laune Rangers had the ascendancy kicking some good scores, and led by 3-4 to 1-12 with fifteen minutes remaining.  Laune Rangers could have closed out the game but a number of consecutive wides proved costly, with Glenflesk breaking against the run of play and scoring 1-2. Time ran out for Laune Rangers eventually losing by the bare minimum.  Final score:- Glenflesk 4-6 Laune Rangers 1-14.  Laune Rangers:- Sarah O’Connor, Milly Foley, Andrea Nolan, Olivia Moriarty, Laura Patton, Orla O’Brien, Erin Murphy, Rachael Evans, Kayleigh McGlashan, Nicole Moriarty,  Laura Leslie, Sophia Doherty, Isabella Doherty, Ailbhe Clifford, Fodhla Houlihan; Isobelle Sheahan, Joanne Fox, Aisling O’Connor, Niamh Doyle, Aine Hassett.

MINOR GIRLS

Laune Rangers travelled to Currow to play their third game in the minor County League, looking to keep up their unbeaten start in the competition.  The game was played at 12 a-side due to a shortage of numbers by the hosts, while Laune Rangers togged out with 18.  From the throw in, Laune Rangers dominated this game against a very young Currow team. The Rangers girls had some very good passages of play in the 1st half, with some excellent point scoring being the highlight. They also kicked three goals in this half and had ten different scorers.  The second half followed a similar path with Laune Rangers girls adding two more goals to their tally, to see them run out convincing winners.  The competition takes a break now due to exams and we want to wish all the girls doing exams the best of luck.   Laune Rangers: Niamh Moriarty, Olivia Moriarty, Laura Patton, Éabha Dolan, Aisling O’Connor, Erin Murphy, Sophia Doherty, Riadh O’Sullivan, Sarah O’Brien, Áine Hassett, Aoife Fenton Toms, Aoife Cleary.  Subs: Kate Costello, Jaquelyn  Owens, Saoirse O Shea, Sarah Patton, Sally McGillycuddy, Amy Callan.
