U16 Girls secured another win in the 4th round of East Kerry League against Rathmore at home on Thursday evening. The team have a bye this week.
U15 Boys – The Blue team were at home to Kilcummin on Wednesday evening at 7pm and secured the win.
U15 Laune Rangers Blue Team hosted Kilcummin in Round 4 of the Div1A County League. The game was fast and entertaining, with both teams had prepared for an exciting match. Laune Rangers began strongly and controlled the game from the start, Kilcummin’s defence looked strong and put up a good fight, preventing Laune Rangers from scoring an early goal. Laune Rangers persevered and scored points from Kieran Patton, Liam O’Shea, Charlie Foley, and Darragh McKenna. After ten minutes, Kilcummin had their chance and scored two points from frees, followed closely by a goal. However, Laune Rangers remained solid and soon after, Mikey Hynes scored a goal. Kilcummin responded with two more frees and a point from play, but Laune Rangers’ Conor Murphy made a fantastic run from midfield and quickly passed the ball to Liam O’Shea, who burst through the defence and scored a second goal for Laune Rangers.
Laune Rangers pulled away in the second half and Hugh O’Sullivan & Pat Costello both added their names to the scoring sheet, along with the first-half scorers. To their credit, Kilcummin dug deep and their determination never waivered but it was Laune Rangers that deservedly took the win and proved to be the stronger side of the evening.
