Having won their opening game in Glenbeigh a fortnight ago, Laune Rangers ended their first home game in the County Senior Football League campaign with a hard-fought draw against Kilcummin in Killorglin on Saturday evening, as a late surge earned them a share of the spoils.

Senior Team will play Spa next weekend in Spa at 2pm on Sunday 6th April.

Laune Rangers Development team travelled to Lispole on Saturday evening on the back of a win in the first round and Lispole had been beaten away from home by Scartaglen.  Laune Rangers missing several players to the team that lined out in previous round due to other commitments but continuing the winning streak from the first round was not to be on the day.

Senior Development Team will play St Michaels/Foilmore this Sunday at 2.30pm at JP O’Sullivan Park, Killorglin on Sunday 6th April.

Laune Rangers welcomed Finuge/St Senans to JP O’Sullivan Park on Sunday 30^th March, for their first home of 2025 season in the second round of the Credit Union Donal Curtin Cup, both teams having won their opening round. Senior Ladies now have two wins from two games in Division 3 of the Credit Union Donal Curtin Cup.

Round 3 takes place this Sunday in JP O’Sullivan Park at 12pm when senior ladies play Spa.

Minor men were due to begin their Central Regions Division 1 campaign this week with a game at home to John Mitchels, but that game did not go ahead.

The team travel to Churchill next Monday night at 7pm for Round 2 of Central Regions Division 1 League.

U16 Boys:  The Blue team play Na Gaeil this Thursday 3rd April in Na Gaeil at 7pm.

U16 Boys White Team: The White team play Austin Stacks B in Connolly Park at 7pm on Thursday 3rd April.

Féile competition (U15 Boys) takes place on this coming weekend 6^th April. Laune Rangers play in Division 2 of County Féile competition.  They play Listowel Emmets in the first game at 2pm in Ballyrickard and the second game against Kerins O’Rahillys at 2.30pm.

U14 Boys Blue Team are away to Dr Crokes Tuesday 1^st April at 7pm

U14 Boys White team are also away to Dr Crokes B on Thursday 3^rd April at 7pm.

Laune Rangers GAA are starting to prepare for next season, if you are interested in interested in volunteering within the Club for the coming year in some capacity.  This may involve helping out at boys/girls academies sessions, becoming part of a coaching team, helping out on match day – stewarding, operating the scoreboard, gate collection; female liaison officer, helping with PR activities, lotto and other fundraisers.

The club will be starting the process of safeguarding and coaching courses for the winter.  These are now a requirement for anyone volunteering with children, once this is completed it is valid for 3 years.

Next monthly meeting will take place on Monday 7th April 2025 at 8.30pm in the clubhouse at JP O’Sullivan Park.

Scór na bPáistí -.

This past weekend has been a great Scór na bPáistí weekend for Laune Rangers.
It all started on Friday night in Currow when the Laune Rangers team of Doireann Reidy, Páidí Moriarty, Scarlett Moriarty and Oisín Moore were one of 20 teams to contest the 2025 Scór na bPáistí Tráth na gCeisteanna Co. Final. It was a challenging contest but the young team acquitted itself very well. They will be back next year! On Sunday, all roads led to Ballybunion’s Tinteán Theatre for the Kerry County Final of Scór na bPáistí. Huge congratulations to Áine O’Connor who won the Solo Singing Competition. And for the second year in a row, Laune Rangers (Jack Healy, Niamh Murphy, Orla Murphy, Páidí Ó Muircheartaigh, Muiris Ó Muircheartaigh, Hugo Moriarty, Katie Foley and Ava Grace O’Shea Joy were declared winners in the Nuachleas/Novelty Act competition. Congratulations too to the Laune Rangers Figure Dancers (Mikayla Moriarty, Lily McCarthy, Cara McCarthy, Lily O’Sullivan, Daisy O’Sullivan, Caoimhe Sheehan, Adele O’Keeffe, Aoibhín Sheehan, Livia Lisiecka and Zoey Lynch) who came third in their competition.
Nor can we forget our Ballad Group (Faye O’Flaherty Moriarty, Danielle Lynch, Robyn Breen, William Ratto, Jamie Heffernan) and our Solo Stepdancer (Cara McCarthy) all of whom faced stiff competition on the day n gave an excellent account of themselves.

Well done to all involved and thank you to the mentors for giving their valuable time. It is very much appreciated.

What a beautiful morning on Sunday last for Laune Rangers ‘Walk in Pink’ to mark Mothers Day and fundraise for @breastcancer_research. This was Laune Rangers 3rd year taking part in this fundraiser, €250 was collected on the day and this will be added to the amount on the idonate page. This link will remain open until 30/04/2025 if anyone else wishes to donate.
