SENIOR LADIES

After playing their first game in almost four months a week ago, Laune Rangers Senior Ladies travelled to Killarney to face Spa in the County Junior A Championship.  Full Time Score:- Spa Killarney 3-25, Laune Rangers 2-10

Laune Rangers host Kilcummin in the last Group 2 game of the Junior A Championship.  At time of writing, the game is set for Sunday next, September 11th – throw in time yet TBC

MOLYNEAUX CUP

Laune Rangers travelled to Glenflesk on Friday evening for Round 1 of the Molyneaux Cup.  They came up against a strong Glenflesk outfit, however, who had the better of Laune Rangers all over the field led by centre forward Luke Crowley.  Full Time Score:- Glenflesk 6-10, Laune Rangers 0-8.

MID KERRY

Best of Luck to Mid Kerry in the upcoming County Championship beginning on Saturday evening vs West Kerry, especially the Laune Rangers players in the squad.

MINOR BOYS

Laune Rangers will take their place in the Semi Finals of the County Minor Club Championship following defeat of Ardfert in a hotly contested Quarter Final on Sunday afternoon, as a second half Eoin O’Connell goal proved the difference between the sides in the end.  Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 1-10, Ardfert 0-10.

Laune Rangers will host Keel/Listry in the Semi Final of the Minor Club Championship.  The game is fixed for Saturday next, September 10th at 4pm at JP O’Sullivan Park.

UNDER 14 GIRLS

Kilcummin played host to Laune Rangers Under 14s on Sunday afternoon, and it was the home side that came away with the win.  Full Time Score:- Kilcummin 0-10, Laune Rangers 0-7

UNDER 13 BOYS

Laune Rangers Under 13 Boys Blue team were defeated by Na Gaeil on Sunday evening in the Central Region Division 1A Semi Final in Killeen, Tralee.  Na Gaeil had the benefit of the breeze in the first half and scored the first six points of the game, but Laune Rangers finished the half strongly with Odhran Foley (2) and Hugh O’Sullivan pointing frees to half the deficit.  A late point by Na Gaeil saw the home side leading by four at the break.  Half Time Score:- Na Gaeil 0-7, Laune Rangers 0-3.  Na Gaeil kicked on at the start of the second half, following the first goal of the game with a brace of points to take a nine point lead.  Laune Rangers kept fighting though, and half time substitute Tommy Foley struck back with a goal for his team.  Kieran Patton and Hugh O’Sullivan (free) added points and, after Na Gaeil had pointed at the other end, a quick move downfield saw Odhran Foley feed Callum Robertson who ended a great run with a better finish for Rangers’ second goal.  This left just two between the sides, but Laune Rangers couldn’t close the gap any further.  Na Gaeil added two points to insure victory, and a late shot by Callum Robertson was tapped over off the crossbar for the final point of the game.  Full Time Score:- Na Gaeil 1-12, Laune Rangers 2-6.  Special mention to Luke Carey in goals who pulled off a few excellent saves to keep Rangers in the battle until the end.  Laune Rangers:- Luke Carey, Eugene Mulligan, Pat Costello, Fionnan O’Connor, Donnacha Prendiville, Charlie Foley, Luke McGillicuddy, Mikey Hynes, Conor Murphy, Hugh O’Sullivan (0-2f), Callum Robertson (1-1, 1f), Liam O’Shea, Kieran Patton (0-1), Odhran Foley (0-2f), Cormac Sweeney.  Subs: Tommy Foley (1-0), Peter O’Shea, Fionn McGillycuddy, Darragh McKenna.

UNDER 11 BOYS/UNDER 10 GIRLS

Laune Rangers U11 boys and U10 girls took part in a fantastic blitz in Milltown on Sunday.  The girls played three games on the day against Austin Stacks, John Mitchels and Milltown/Castlemaine, winning all three and winning their group in the process.  The boys defeated Fossa, drew with Kenmare and lost to Austin Stacks to finish third in their group.  They had a narrow loss to Churchill in their Semi Final.  Well Done to all our players & coaches and well done to Milltown/Castlemaine for an excellent blitz.

For those over 17, is up and running once again and it is just around the corner. Please get in touch with us and let us know if you, are anyone you know, may be interested in taking part. The competitions are: Figure/Céilí Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrumental Music Group, Ballad Group, Recitation/Scéalaíocht, Léiriú/Novelty Act, Set Dancing and Table Quiz.  This competition is open to any person from the Laune Rangers area of Killorglin Parish who is OVER 17 years on 1st January 2022.  Even if you are not an active sports member of Laune Rangers you can become a Scór member.
