MINOR BOYS: Laune Rangers travelled to Waterville on Saturday afternoon to face South Kerry in the County Minor championship, but the game was only five minutes old when play came to a stop due a head injury. As time passed, it became evident that the collision had knocked the player unconscious and, though he came around after a few minutes, the risk in moving him was too great and ambulance was required. The game was abandoned while the player was transferred by helicopter to hospital, where he was released later in the evening for concussion observation at home. Many thanks to all that acted so quickly to aid the player, especially Shane Buckley and Mick Garry who cared for him for an hour before the air ambulance arrived.
MINOR BOYS FIXTURE: The same journey awaits the Minor team this Saturday, October 2nd, as they travel to Waterville to play South Kerry in the re-fixed Round 2 fixture. Throw in 3pm.

Coffey’s Bar on Lower Bridge Street is where our club was formed in 1888, and it was headquarters for many celebrations throughout the years as Kitty and her husband James – one of the great servants to Laune Rangers and Kerry GAA – welcomed both Laune Rangers and opponents alike. We extend our deepest condolences to the Coffey and Mangan families. Ar Dheis Dé to raibh a h-Anam dílis.
